Red Squirrel Behaviors, Threats, or Dangers
Red squirrels can be found throughout North America, especially in regions where coniferous trees thrive. Their nests, predominantly composed of grass, are typically built in tree branches rather than underground. It’s common for them to have multiple nests within their territories, and on occasion, they may opt to nest in homes, utilizing insulation as nesting material. While rare, they can carry diseases that can be transmitted to humans through scratches, bites, or contact with contaminated surfaces. If you are having an issue with red squirrels, it is best to consult a professional wildlife control company for removal.
